English 214 explores a selection of contemporary literature and examines the influence of social, political, economic, and technological trends on art, reading and writing in the late 20th and early 21st Century. We endeavor to understand what it means to live and write, and still read literature, in the current world. Only one traditional class meeting will be held on Monday, January 3, from 4:30 pm to 6 pm at the City College @ Wilshire Campus, Room 229, for the mandatory orientation. The rest of the class will proceed online using Professor Patthey’s Moodle-hosted Web Course via hostedclasses.com/patthey.
