Prof GGP’s Spring 2014 Online English 102

Prof GGP’s Spring 2014 English 102 Online is full and likely to remain full. If you are on her Waiting List and would like to try your chances and get an add slip, you must go to an in person Orientation scheduled for April 14 from 19:00 to 21:00 in Jefferson Hall 316. Prof GGP will only add people who come to the Orientation. Depending on how many people appear, she may hold a lottery or add them in Waiting List order.

A discussion assignment will be due April 16, by which time any adds should have been processed and any new students will have an opportunity to complete the assignment. Prof GGP will drop people on April 18 if they have not completed that first discussion assignment. There will be no exceptions. It is therefore imperative that you add her class only if you can give it your full attention as soon as you are enrolled.

In English 102 Online, we discuss literature as an art form through close analytical readings of selected essays, short stories, poems, and a play. Story-telling and oratory are as old as humanity; through our exploration of assigned texts across several layers and dimensions, we will also learn about and practice college argumentation and critical thinking. For Spring 2014, Prof GGP’s English 102 will proceed entirely online using LACC’s Etudes Portal, accessible at via the For Students tab. You will not be able to log in for the course in Etudes until April 8, when the web course goes live. Instructions about how to log in may be found at If you already know how to log in, you can go directly to after April 8.
